About Shirley Romero, FNP-C
Shirley Romero entered the healthcare field in order to improve the overall health of her community. She was an Intensive Care RN for 17 years and implemented several clinical changes as a clinical IV nurse in various hospital departments: ER, Step Down, ICU. She obtained her MS in Nursing Education and post masters as a Family Nurse Practitioner. In a previous job at St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton, she was recognized for lowering the blood pressure of 77% of her patients. Shirley enjoys being able to change the health outcomes of her patients, seeing their blood pressure controlled, their diabetes in check, and knowing that they are improving their health. She is especially passionate about the treatment of diabetes because it runs in her family.
Outside of Montes Medical, Shirley loves going to the theater, traveling, gardening, and spending time with her family.
Shirley lived in studied in Mexico for many years. She loves Guanajuato where her parents live, especially the culture and the people. She is so grateful for the opportunity to do what she loves at Montes Medical and for the entire staff and administration who makes her feel like she is a part of a family.
